For the 2020 digital edition of Art Basel Miami Beach, Louis Stern Fine Arts is pleased to present Matsumi Kanemitsu: Just Like Sunshine, Like Moon, a selection of watercolors and paintings by celebrated Japanese-American artist Matsumi Kanemitsu. Kanemitsu’s artistic legacy is bicultural, embracing Japanese ink painting traditions as well as American Abstract Expressionism. Ruggedly gestural, sensuously fluid, and boldly colorful, Kanemitsu’s abstractions are the work of a distinctive innovator and synthesizer.
