Louis Stern Fine Arts is pleased to present Kind of Blue: Recent works by Judith Foosaner. The exhibition opens with a reception for the artist onSaturday, November 6 from 6-9pm and continues through Saturday, December 18, 2004.
Ocean blues, sky blues even robin’s egg blues have found a home in Judith Foosaner’s spacious openhearted new canvasses. Evocative lines of sea-foam green seem to carve swirling arcs across a wind-swept sky. The strong lines somehow submerge themselves into the tenderest wash of blue and green hues. With her traditional line-driven dynamism in tact, Foosaner’s current work embraces a vivid new landscape and a world of color.
Based in the Bay Area and represented by Louis Stern Fine Arts, Foosaner has exhibited in galleries across the country and is included in numerous museum, public and private collections. Museum representation includes The Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, The Oakland Museum, The San Diego Fine Art Museum and The Everson Museum of Art in New York. For over a decade, Foosaner taught at the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland. Kind of Blue marks the artist’s third solo exhibition with the gallery.
